Understanding Medicare

Medicare Skilled Services are defined as any care which requires a skilled level of nursing care or skilled rehabilitation services that must be performed and supervised by professionals in accordance with physician orders.

Highland Home serves as an intermediate stop before returning home from the hospital to allow the continuation of nursing services or to rehabilitate following surgery. The majority of persons receiving these Medicare services return home again to resume independent living.
